Hold'em - Position

Position is where you are sitting in relation to the action and the other players at the table.

If all players saw the flop, the first player to the left of the button would be in first position, then moving around the table … second position, third position, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth, here called the button, the last position.

Having good position is very important because it allows you to act on your hand after seeing how your opponents acted. Having position gives you the opportunity to make the most on a good hand, and save money, when you have the worst.
