Limit Texas Hold'em Questions

You have KJ and the board is KT953. What hand do you have and how good is it?
You have a pair of Kings with a Jack kicker. It beats Kx and pair of tens, but it's beaten by KQ, AK, or two pairs.
You are holding J2 suited in the small blind and everyone has called to you. What do you do?
Fold. J2s is a terrible hand.
You are holding AK offsuit on the button in a longhanded game. There is one raise to you. What should you do?
You should reraise to knock people out and see the flop with as few runners as possible.
You are holding A3 offsuit in a longhanded game. There is a raise to you, what should you do?
Fold. A3 is dominated by AK, AQ, AJ, etc…
You are holding AJ in a longhanded game with tight players. There is a raise and reraise to you, what should you do?
Fold. You are dominated by AA,JJ, AQ, and AK here.
You are holding 55 in middle position with two callers to you. What should you do?
Either call or fold. If it is a loose game call and try to see the flop cheaply and hit a set. However, if you miss your set you need to fold. If it is an aggressive game and you think you may be reraised, you should probably just fold here.
You are holding AQ unsuited and there was a reraise preflop, with 3 other callers. The flop comes KQ7, what should you do?
Answer: Fold. Someone probably has a K.
You are holding KQ offsuit in middle position in a shorthanded game, and everyone has folded to you, what should you do?
Raise. You have good high cards and need to eliminate opponents.
You are holding 56 suited on the button in a shorthanded game, everyone calls to you, what should you do?
Fold. suited connectors are not that good in shorthanded games, you would prefer high cards.
You have AK, the flop comes AQ2, with A2 of hearts. The turn is a blank and the river comes Q of hearts. Your opponent checks to you, what should you do?
Just check right behind him. Either he was on a flush draw, he had a Q, or an Ace. If you have him beat then he may not call you here anyway, but there is a good chance he is check-raising you here. (If you know your opponent to be the type that never check-raises, you can go ahead and bet.) Basically, you stand to gain one big bet and stand to lose two. So you need to have 2:1 odds that he will not raise you in order to bet.

No-Limit Texas Hold'em Questions

You are playing NL hold'em with $1-2 blinds. There is an $8 raise to you and you hold A9 offsuit, what do you do?
Fold, you are dominated by AK, AQ, AJ, AT.
You are playing NL hold'em and everyone has called the big blind. You hold 65 of hearts on the button, what do you do?
Call. This is a good drawing hand.
You are playing NL hold'em. You hold 96 offsuit in early position, what do you do?
This is not a good hand.
You are playing NL hold'em. You hold QT offsuit in late position, two people have called a small raise. What do you do?
Fold. You are dominated and your drawing prospects are weak. The raise indicates that other high cards may be against you, such as KQ and AQ.
You are playing shorthand NL, you are one off the button and hold 88, first to act. What do you do?
Raise to about 4 times the big blind. Hopefully you can take all the blinds, if not, you may be able to take the pot on the flop.
You are playing shorthand NL, you are one off the button and hold KQ, two have called before you. What do you do?
Just call. KQ is pretty good but not that great. If no one hits a pair you are losing to Ax and you are dominated by AK, AQ.
You raised preflop with AK and the flop comes Qxx. You have position. What do you do?
Sometimes make a pot-size bet and sometimes just check. You want to pick up this pot if your opponents have nothing. Even if they have a Q, you still have 6 outs on the turn and river, if they fail to raise you on the flop then you may luck out. If they do raise you, you should probably fold.
You have AK and the flop comes K83, K8 of spades. What do you do?
Bet the pot size or larger, you need to knock out the flush draw here.
You have 99 and were raised preflop by an aggressive player. You put him on AK. The flop comes a rainbow K94. What do you do?
Bet small into the raiser with the intent to reraise. If you bet out too strong the other player might just fold if he has nothing. But if you bet small you might draw a bluff out of him. Even if he just calls your small bet he may hit something on the turn and then you can go for the kill.
The flop comes AK7, with K7 of spades. You hold 54 of spades. Your opponent makes a bet about 1/3 the size of the pot, what should you do?
Call. You have about 18% chance of hitting flush on the turn, so you need 4:1 odds on your call, which is exactly what you are getting. The other option, if you think your opponent is bluffing or weak, is to reraise as a semibluff. You're hoping he'll fold immediately but if he calls you may hit your flush on the turn.

Omaha Hi Questions

You have AKJ9, the Ace is a diamond and the KJ9 are all clubs. The board is Ace of clubs and 8754 of diamonds. What hand do you have?
You have a pair of Aces with King kicker. You must use exactly two cards from your hand and 3 from the board, so you cannot make a diamond flush.
You are playing a shorthanded Omaha game and in early position you hold AA32, A3 of hearts. What do you do?
Raise. You have a strong hand that may stand up on its own if you can narrow the field. Raising will also build the pot in case you hit a flush.
You are playing a shorthanded Omaha game and you hold KQJ5, KQ of spades. The big blind calls your raise but everyone else folds. The flop comes AK3, A3 of spades. The big blind bets into you and you call. The turn comes 7 of spades. BB checks and calls your bet. On the river the Ace of hearts comes and the BB bets into you. What do you do?
Call. Your opponent may have AK or A3, which will now give him a full house. It probably would not pay to fold, since there were 5 big bets in the pot and you have to call only one from him. He can bluff at this pot 6 times and break even if he hits even once. So you should not fold unless you are more than 80% sure he has the full house. It is unlikely that he has only trip Aces. It is most likely that he is either bluffing or has the full house - so he wouldn't call a raise unless he had you beat. Now if your opponent were the type to bet into you with trip Aces only, then you could consider raising.

Omaha Hi/Low Questions

You have A2TJ. The board is 78945. What is your hand? How do you play it?
You have both the nut hi and nut lo. Your hi hand is 789TJ and your lo hand is A2457. Raise and reraise!
You have A479 preflop. What do you do?
Fold. You more than likely will end up losing money drawing for the non-nut low.
You have AAKQ double suited to the ace. What do you do?
If it is a multiway pot, just call. However, if it’s down to you and the blinds, consider raising it and making it heads up as this hand does very well heads up.

You have AT8, two suited on third street, what do you do?
